At All Times Aware
I want to be more aware of You.
It’s easier when I have worship music playing in my airpods, and I’m by myself. But I want to be aware of You when other drivers are honking their horns and people are placing demands on my attention. Not aware of You as an escape mechanism, but aware of You as my Faithful Companion. I don’t want to have to “escape” anything. You didn’t create me to have to escape anything. Rather, that everything done with You would actually be how and where I find peace. Wow. I’ve never really thought of it like that. People talk about “escape mechanisms,” but if I live every moment with You, what is there to escape from? Surely not You. I get the idea of unwinding after a day of work, and I get that certain activities are more helpful for my mind staying aware of Your Presence than others, but still. I want to be aware of You always. Constantly drawing from Your strength.
What do You think?
I light your lamp, I enlighten your darkness, My sweet. With Me, You can run against a troop. With Me, you can leap over a wall. I am the One who makes you this way. You see, My way is perfect. My Word is proven. I am a shield to all who trust in Me, Bri. Who is God, but Me? Who is a rock to you except Me? I am the One who arms you with strength. I make your way perfect. I will make your feet like those of a deer and I’ll set you up on high places. Don’t worry—I’m the One who teaches your hands to war so that your arms know how to bend a bow. Here, take this shield—it’s called My salvation. My right hand holds you up—do You feel me now? My gentleness makes you great. I enlarge the path under your feet so that you don’t slip, sweet (Psalm 18).
Thank You Papa, how I need Your truth constantly. Thank You for Your gentleness that makes me great. Thank You for giving me a shield I can rely on—Your salvation. Light my lamp, Father. So I may run, so I may leap haha. So I can walk and run like a deer in high places. Make my footing secure, Lord. You are the one I hope in. Others fail me, but Your Word is proven to be faithful. I can depend on You.
Recently, I’ve been aware of how I carry stress in my body, Lord. Can You talk to me about that, Papa? I’ve never thought of myself as an anxious person, but my muscles are tense and my jaw needs some loosening. What do You think about that, Lord?
“Breathe baby girl. You’ve been carrying burdens I never asked you to. Let’s examine what you are doing again. Let’s take inventory. What are you doing that I never asked you to? You see, there are things that I’ve called you to complete in this time—give priority to those. But everything else? Let it take a less important place. There are things that must get done, I know that. But don’t allow those things to become causes of you getting stressed. Breathe. You don’t have to fix everything. You’ve come to believe that a little bit. That you have to fix the big problems you see all around you. Yes, I have placed you where you are to bring change and life to some things, but it’s not everything. And if you try to change everything, you will collapse. I didn’t call you to do that.”
So , what did you call me to, Papa?
“Intimacy. Come and feed. Come and drink. I am endless. Come, take your fill, My love. I won’t run out. Not even close. I have more than enough for your every need.
Everything you do flowing from intimacy with Me, Bri.
Don’t lose sight of Me, now. I am enough. For your every need. Do you believe Me?”
